Practical Skills for Art Direction: The Moving Image - Year 2

Task 1: Animated Brand Asset Pack

Brand Guidelines

Here are my brand guidelines for my brand Sound Bite. These guidelines help outline my brands visual identity and how I can be used through out different forms of media.

Reupload of user personas, brand prism, etc as they appear blurry on the brand guidelines

Animated logo

Here is the animated logo I made for my brand, Sound Bite. I made sure that that letters are clear to read even from a distance. This animation is more simple as when it was made I didn’t have much knowledge on after effects. I’m still happy with how it turned out.

Here is the basic story board I made for the animated logo. I followed it closely as I could in after effects. The hardest part about this animation was the logo changing colour. To make this work I had to make the black logo translucent one line at a time so it would change smoother

Animated typographic

This is the final outcome for my animated typographic. I made it using a tutorial we did in class. I had some problems with this because I couldn’t get the glitch effect to cover the whole text. Despite that I found a way to make it work and I’m happy with the outcome.

Animated Illustration

Here is my final outcome for my animated illustration. This was one of my favourite videos to make. The teeth are hand drawn by myself. I used teeth because it ties into the grunge vibe my brand is about, also it fits because of the word bite in the name.

The final outcome follows my story board closely. The animation for this video was quite simple. The hardest part was making the mouth close smoothly. I fixed this by making the closing animation simpler, all I had to do was delete some motion time stamps and basically made it go A to B.
