First Promotional Poster

My first poster, I wanted to try a more simple lay out
This is the first self promotional poster I made. I used a picture of myself to create a silhouette of my head and added a photo I took of an aquarium tank to fill the silhouette. I wanted my name to blend into the photo so I used clipping mask of the same photo and at the bottom of this poster it says EST 2005 because that was the year I was born. The background was the hardest part of this as I could not find the right shade of blue to match the silhouette mainly because it made the background look to plain so I tried a gradient which worked much better. The darkest part of the backgrounds gradient is on the lightest part of the photo, then the gradient gets lighter at the bottom to contrast the darker bottom of the image. “Calmness and peace are two words that come to mind when thinking about the color blue. It is a non-aggressive color that encourages serenity, orderliness, and tranquility. This could be because we associate oceans with blue, and it can be a mentally soothing color for some people” (Color Psychology, 15/2/24) This poster shows my love for aquatic life and photography.
Second Promotional Poster

My second poster, I wanted to make a poster without my face in it and that shows off my skills for photography
For my second portrait I wanted to show off more of my photography skills. I decided to split my page into 7 different sections. I left one of the sections blank, so I had space for my name and anything else I wanted to add. I wanted the pictures to be in rainbow order, so I chose certain pictures that have a defined colour palliate. “Colour harmony delivers visual interest and a sense of order”( Colormatters, N.D)and the pictures I chose are all taken by myself at different points in my life. The first picture I used for the red space was a photo I took in Italy, in the ruins of Pompei. The next two pictures I used were taken in Iceland, which my favourite place I have visited. The green image is a picture I took in my local park of my dog playing. The last two pictures are I took at the aquarium which is one of my favourite places to visit.
